Allotments
The Town Council owns and manages allotments in Hayhurst Street, West View off Whalley Road and the Milthorne areas of the town.
Anyone interested in renting an allotment should contact the Town Hall on 01200 424722. There is currently a waiting list of approximately 2 years. The annual rent for a standard size allotment is currently £40.60. The rents depend on the size of the allotment and will vary.
An allotments competition is held in June every year. Anyone interested in taking part in the competition should contact Irene Williamson on 01200 424722. The winners of the 2006 allotments competition are as follows;
